ABOUT OUR DOJO

Ohio Valley Karate is an active, participating member of the International Shotokan Karate Federation. This non-profit organization based in Philadelphia, PA, was founded by Master Teruyuki Okazaki (10th degree black belt) in 1961 and is dedicated to the proliferation of traditional Japanese karate all over the world.  Shihan Hiroyoshi Okazaki (9th degree black belt) is our chief instructor.

EQUIPMENT

No equipment is required to practice Shotokan Karate.  A plain white karate uniform (Gi) is the standard attire; these may be purchased through Ohio Valley Karate at a discounted rate.  Belts and certificates of rank are included with testing fees upon a successful passing grade.

Located at the Ascension and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church
in beautiful Wyoming, Ohio

TRAINING HOURS

The first class is for young children and some older beginners who choose to focus on very basic techniques.  The second class is for adults and older/more advanced kids, depending on their ability.

The right class for you is somewhat subjective and we will work with you to ensure you are in the appropriate setting for you age, skill level, and experience.
